Details reveal that Babar Azam, the star batter of Pakistan, shared an image on X (formerly Twitter) featuring a young girl holding the Palestinian flag and embracing a doll.
In the preceding month, Rizwan’s match-winning performance against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023 was accompanied by a message expressing empathy and support for the people of Gaza.
Rizwan’s tweet followed his remarkable 131 (not out) innings, contributing to the highest run chase in Cricket World Cup history.
In his message, Rizwan expressed, “This victory is dedicated to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. I’m pleased to have contributed to the win. Credits to the entire team, with special mention to Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it smoother.
The Pakistan Cricket Board urged wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan to take down his social media post, in which he dedicated the team’s historic victory against Sri Lanka to Palestinians facing the impact of the conflict with Israel.
