In compliance with directives from the Interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, Lahore Traffic Police has carried out extensive arrests of underage drivers in a series of enforcement actions. The impetus behind this initiative was a tragic road accident in the Defence area last week, claiming the lives of six family members.
Within a span of four days, Lahore Traffic Police successfully apprehended 1,632 underage drivers, initiating legal proceedings against each individual. Simultaneously, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore issued show cause notices to six sector in-charges, pointing out lapses in enforcement effectiveness during the crackdowns.
